North Routt is just North of Steamboat Springs in the beautiful Elk River Valley. On the way to Steamboat Lake, Hahns Peak, or Pearl Lake you may just encounter a cattle drive. This area is comprised of many family ranches, guest ranches, conservation land, and single family neighborhoods with acreage. The local store is located in Clark which is about 20 miles from Steamboat. The Clark store has a post office, deli, gas station, and groceries. There is even a seasonal ice cream shop. The drive North is absoulutly gorgeous! Along the way you will see the Elk River, Llamas, cattle, and possibly herds of elk and deer.

We enjoy Steamboat Lake because of its family friendly swim beach and local boaters. We always see other families we know and have a a great time fishing, skiing, and tubing at the Lake. Pearl Lake, a neighboring lake, is known for its natural ambiance - no motorized boats allowed. Hahns Peak and Hahns Peak Village are real treats also. The village used to be the main center of Routt County. In the old village you can visit the trinket store and an old jail - watch out for bank robbers! Outdoor activites are numerous in North Routt. No visit to Steamboat is complete without a trip North.
